Monday's Homeowner Meeting

I'm sorry that I wasn't able to attend the meeting on Monday night. Someone gave me a quick overview. All property owners should be getting more information about the assessments and increases in HOA dues soon. The golf course is being taken over by Mike Hooker with the intention of making it a private club. Golf members will have to pay an assessment to keep their membership. The new golf and athletic fees will be announced soon. That's all I can say at the moment. If you have questions, you should contact Jay Rusch, jayr@mountvintage.com, 803-279-5422.

If you have more information about the meeting or would like to publish an opinion, please send email to webmaster@mountvintage.org.

Golf Course Update

The committee of homeowners investigating the feasibility of buying the Mount Vintage golf course and operating it as a member-owned facility has announced that they have terminated their work and will be disbanding their organization. They were recently informed by Talmadge Knight, the Mount Vintage developer, that he has decided to pursue a different path. Additional information from Mr. Knight is expected in a few weeks.

The Feasibility Committee had planned a meeting for tonight (June 21), and conference calls during the week. These are canceled in light of the developer's decision.

The editor of MountVintage.org thanks the committee for its work.

Decorating for Independence Day Celebration

Decorating volunteers are needed for the 4th of July celebration. There are 2 different times you can volunteer. If you can help, please come to the pool area on Saturday, June 26, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Also, the tables and tent will be decorated the morning of the celebration, July 3rd. That will start at 7:30 a.m. in order to be finished by the start of the parade. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you and make plans to attend the parade and all the festivities on Saturday, July 3.

Editor's note: Mount Vintage is celebrating the "Fourth" on Saturday, the third.
